Tech Tip Week 13: Class Announcements Email

Image
I am glad I just subscribed to the class announcements. I like how with this class we are able to view announcements and it is always a great experience looking at them. I like how many times are there funny pictures and interesting videos to watch within the announcements. That is one thing that sets this class apart from many others. It also brings color and life to the class page on Canvas. As of right now I do not have any advice to make your announcements even better than they already are. However, if the opportunity does come, I will make sure to give out recommendation on how to improve the Canvas announcements page.                                                                               A picture of a notepad with announcements. Tech Tip Week 12: AutoMotivator

Image
Here is my AutoDeMotivator I made. Source: AutoMotivator I liked getting to create my own AutoMotivator picture. I decided to create a DeMotivator though because we were given the option. I chose a picture off the website. The quote I used was one I created myself. What attracted me to the picture was the light shining on the person. Where there is light there is usually a shadow somewhere, so I thought the quote was a good fit for the image.

Tech Tip: Week 11: Einstein Chalkboard

Image
My Einstein Chalkboard Picture.  Source Hetemeel Creating my own Einstein Chalkboard quote was fun! I choose to write "Just believe it, and maybe you can succeed" because it takes more than just believing. It also takes action and dedication to accomplish goals. I also changed it to I=tried because that is how I am feeling at this point in the semester.

Tech Tip Week 10: Graduation Countdown

Graduation Countdown Countdown Here is my graduation countdown! It was exciting and also a little worrying creating this gadget. I am not sure I am ready to graduate just yet. Either way it was cool being able to make a graduation countdown!

Tech Tip: Typing Test

Image
For this tech tip, I decided to do a typing test using keyhero. I was determined to do decent on this because I think I am a decent typer, but who knows, I could be really slow. I ended up getting 85.97 WPM. I could do better. That is a challenge for me. I remember back in elementary school all the kids would try to see who was the fastest typer back in computer lab. This brings back fun memories.                                                                   Me typing. Source: MakeAGif

Tech Tip: Google Map

I choose this Landstuhl, Germany because that is where I was born. I am not familiar with Landstuhl, so I thought it would be cool to look up where it was in Germany and what it may look like. Overall, embedding a Google Maps into Blogger is cool! *Update: I was struggling getting this to show up, but Professor Gibbs helped a lot!*

Tech Tip: Google Art Project

Image
I installed the Google Art Project extension and I find it amazing. As soon as I pull up my Google Chrome Browser a piece of art pops up covering the entire background. The artwork of John Peter Russel called, "Madame Sisley on the banks of the Loing at More". I love seeing different works of art and I want to go to museums more often. This is a great (and educational) tool to have. This is the picture that popped up for me. Source: ArtGallery

Tech Tip: Text to Voice

Image
I thought the Text to Voice for Chrome was really interesting. The only downside is the voice. I wish there was a way that I could get a voice that did not sounds as choppy, but it is still a great tool to have especially when one wants to just sit and listen to a recording rather than reading.                                                                           Audio image I found on Google

Tech Tip: Etymology

Image
Etymology of February. Source: Google  I never used the etymology tool before on Google, I thought that was really cool! I got addicted and looked up words such as epics, inferno, and even February. I had no idea February came from the Latin word februa which was part of a purification feast. This is such a useful tool that peaks my curiosity!

Tech Tip: Cheezburger

Image
A meme I cared on Cheezburger This was my first meme I created on Cheezburger. I love creating memes but I have used different websites creating them. I will be using Cheezburger more often! Is is an awesome site to use!

Tech Tip: Word Counter

Image
The Word Counter is a great tool to utilize when writing blogs and papers. I usually just copy and paste my text to a Word document and look at my word count; however, having a Word Counter is so much more convenient. I have no regrets having this because this will help me out so much during with papers. Overall, word length is random for me. On topics I have no interest in, my word count is usually struggling. However, if I were to talk about certain topics in history, I could write for days surpassing the word count greatly. Having this extension will help me so much and I am glad I was introduced to the Word Counter.                                                                 This is the Word Counter logo I found. Tech Tip: Canvas Mobile App

Image
The Canvas App has been useful to me throughout my junior year of college. By using the Canvas app I am able to keep track of my assignment due dates and also send messages to other students. Having the Canvas app is really convenient because I am constantly on my phone, so I get notifications when grades come in or when messages are sent. Overall, the Canvas app has been really reliable to me during my time at OU and I still use it to this day.                                                                                  The Canvas logo from the Canvas sit itself.
