Tech Tip: Word Counter

The Word Counter is a great tool to utilize when writing blogs and papers. I usually just copy and paste my text to a Word document and look at my word count; however, having a Word Counter is so much more convenient. I have no regrets having this because this will help me out so much during with papers. Overall, word length is random for me. On topics I have no interest in, my word count is usually struggling. However, if I were to talk about certain topics in history, I could write for days surpassing the word count greatly. Having this extension will help me so much and I am glad I was introduced to the Word Counter.

Week 7 Wikipedia Trails: From Durvasa to Mandar Parvat

The first topic I wanted to search on Wikipedia was Durvasa . He is a sage that casts curses on people, while also sometimes rarely giving people blessings. He is known for being ill tempered and he was a major reason why the churning of the ocean needed to be done. Then from Durvasa I clicked on the Samudra manthan . This is an episode that involves the churning of the ocean found within the Mahabharata Bhavagata Purana. It is interesting that this is found in several different sources and how the telling of the story may be a little different in each source. From there I clicked on Mount Mandara . Mount Mandara was actually used as the churning rod by the gods and demons to churn the ocean. Lastly, I clicked on the Mandar Parvat , which is a small mountain within the district of Bihar. My Assignments

The setup for the class is really different and interesting from any other class I have taken. I am looking forward to the assignments for the class. I am ready for the Reading assignments. I am unfamiliar with Indian epics and I can not wait to begin reading these books. Another type of assignment that I will enjoy is the Storytelling aspect. Through storytelling I will be able to recollect the stories I have read, while adding a creative element that I have created. I also love the idea of having extra credit. For a matter of fact I do not know a student who does not like extra credit. One of the extra credits I am looking forward to is the Wikipedia Trails. I believe the skill of clicking on links within Wikipedia comes naturally to me. One moment I am looking up a cell on Wikipedia for an assignment, then somehow I end up looking at Rottweilers. Tech Tip Week 13: Class Announcements Email

I am glad I just subscribed to the class announcements. I like how with this class we are able to view announcements and it is always a great experience looking at them. I like how many times are there funny pictures and interesting videos to watch within the announcements. That is one thing that sets this class apart from many others. It also brings color and life to the class page on Canvas. As of right now I do not have any advice to make your announcements even better than they already are.
