Reading Notes: The Mahabharata Narayan Part A

The Mahabharata by Narayan so far has been an interesting read. The hardest thing for me to keep up with within the novel would be the names of everyone. At first I thought the story would be focusing on one person; however, it seems as if the Mahabharata might be focusing on several people. From what I read there is a division growing among the Kauravas and the Pandavas. I somewhat sympathize more for the Pandavas and hope they are able to go back to the kingdom. I thought the marriage Draupadi and the five brothers was an interesting concept. I did not realize their were instances in which a woman could marry multiple men, because it is more common for men to have multiple wives. Also, I thought it was interesting to read about Bhima defeating the raksasha. I may just create a story involving Bhima and the raksasha. I can not wait to continue reading this epic.
